Having a up-to-spec laser isn't necessarily a bad thing. People might want lasers that are safe to use for children!
Yes, that is a very good point.
Some, however, may say just like toy guns, a 'toy' laser could begin a chain of events that ends badly. I have never felt that any laser is a good 'toy' for youngsters especially if they are not taught that there is no laser that is eye safe.
But I have seen many so called adults do stoopid stuff with handhelds and they should know better. One common big mistake is to assume any laser that is not extremely bright will be not a dangerous one- perfect examples or of course IR lasers and many 405s 'look' harmless but that is far from the truth.
I will not be sending mine back to china because they are all so overspec..
