Re: Flashlight gb - dorcy cr123 - CHANGES MADE
I never made heatsinks before, but I have a small lathe of my own, and a professional big one at my school. And, I got plenty of piece of aluminum. So, if you guys would want, I could try making a batch and sell them for $10. It'd probably be a little easier to make press fit ones rather than set-screw (and also, press-fit is better in terms of absorbing the heat fully, and most people should be able to press fit since they have to press fit the diode in the module anyways). And, I'd maybe sell a little cheaper than $10 if buying multiple. My friend has a Dorcy, so I could try matching the heatsink with the one I have on there (which is a brass one made by Jake21 - old member which some of you might not know). And, I've never done set-screws but I'm sure I might be able to handle it. So, once again, if people would be willing to buy, I can try making some now in advance.
Edit: well, maybe I'll try making one sometime soon since I'll need one or two for my own Dorcy's if I order. So, I'll make it the exact size of the one Jake made me a while ago, and I'll post pictures and sizes. I'll also try making both press-fit and set-screw, although press would be easier for me to make and would have better heatsinking. But, you guys just let me know if you're interested. Because, I'm only 16 (turn 17 in a few weeks - will finally be able to drive!) w/o a job and I could use a little money on the side from this.
