first try at laser photography :)

So it was a nice foggy night tonight so I thought I might have a crack at photographing some photon beams

Any tips or suggestions feel free to comment seeing as this is my first time doing this.
My camera isn't very special either, I'm using a Nikon coolpix S3000 set to automatic exposure.

In the photo below what I did was set the laser down on a table outside, then I moved the camera in a fast
clockwise motion, the cameras exposure settings were set to normal so I liked how this photo turned out

My sad attempt of writing LPF in the sky

Unfortunately I only have one wavelength in my photo collection, next time i'll have more wavelengths

i held the camera steady with one hand then shot the photo while i moved the laser in a circular motion with the other hand into the night sky

Seriously, is that snow and that thick? All I'm saying, it's over 40°C and we are all melting.

Lol its the original photo i think its because the fog was so thick that whatever light hits it, the massive fog particles would light up

this is what happens when i take a photo with the flash on,

theres no smudges or residue on the lens, the fog was so thick that the flash exposed the particles in the air

i'm pretty sure the fog particles weren't individually that big in size but rather just the effect the fog conditions had on the camera

Fog here is more like a haze, uniform, makes the beam really flare up and people go "ooh"

me too have an MS-SSW host en-route for a 9mm build, so i'll have more wavelengths very soon :tinfoil:

I have to say, even with a basic compact you managed to take some interesting shots.

However what counts even more is the creativity of yours with a goal to achieve some nice outcome. +1 for that!
