Maybe I am not seeing the picture correctly but you need the scanner block close to the edge of the optic table otherwise your beams will be bouncing around the inside of the case.

ya I was going to mention this, you really want your scanners as close to the "front" of your case/baseplate as possible

it will be.... that is just a rough mock up. i was given that piece of aluminum plate by the local scrap yard... i will be using the excess to make my dichro mounts. i will start that process in about 2 weeks.
