I was writing an email with few questions like these:
-------
Are these real 200mW, without IR? At <280mA?
532nm 200mW Green Laser Diode Module DIY/Industrial/Lab - $69.99 : Laserlands
Our 100~200mW modules have IR filter which helps to purify the 532nm green beam.
Operating Current <280mA
What is the average power output? What power output range you guarantee?
You say that I may receive a module that looks different from the picture. How do your current 200mW green modules look like? Are dimensions the same?
-------
But now that I found this post, I would rather ask them here.
However, I also found this post:
200mW Green Single Beam Laser Pointer Pen
So my trust is somewhat lost already... Now you'll have to win that back and then some.

BTW: Do you use same modules in your 200mW pens?

we add a switch to the module as in the picture. The rest of it is the same as in the picture show. the power range is 130~180 mW. we guarantee a minimum power output of 130mW. This 200mW is industrial module used for producing the 200mW laser pointer pen. We sells from factory, so they price is good.

With the $1 coupon the 5mW green pointer comes out to $6 shipped which is a great deal when compared to a site like DX that charges $10 shipped. I may get one of these to review if I can scrape together a couple bucks.

Hmm... 130mW is not what you'd expect from a <200mW module, but for $70 it's not bad at all. Specifying this range on your webpage would make you look much more discreet and trustworthy.

Anyone wants to try his luck? :)

Random thoughts: It's good to see prices are coming down. Any of those modules, no matter where you order them from look nothing like expensive product :D

Yeah but DXs are often over spec and can be turned up.

Edit: With shipping is just about the same price as DX.

I also suggest you lower the prices for "100mW" and "200mW" modules a bit, as they currently cost the same or more (!) then laser pens that use same modules (according to your words).

that is normal. a module will not be necessaries cheaper than laser pointer. Our price is already very low I think.

OK. Can you post a pic showing how your 100~200mW modules with IR filter look like? The pic you have on your website isn't very helpful:

module%20bounce.JPG

Even more so because of these words you say:
Please notice that the module appearance may be different from the reference photo for the possible factory mould of module changes.

Please provide bigger pictures of higher quality that show the aperture of the actual modules you sell.

Thanks.

While I have not made any purchases from Laserlands yet---I have asked some questions and was impressed with the polite-and quick responces. Merry also seems to have a much better than average command of English. There are a few errors on the website but when notified Merry was thankful and indicated that corrections will be made. Perhaps some tests and reviews will give LPF members more confidence.--time will tell-hakzaw1
