Happy Autumn Equinox! Fall officially starts in a few hours. :)
We just had a cold snap over here to make it seem official.

NO! :yabbmad::yabbmad::mad::mad: I won't allow it. Fall isn't happening. Summer is still here. Winter isn't coming.

Seriously though, it's going to be -40 soon and that thought is depressing.

You chose to move from the eternal wet to the freezing cold.

I actually don't mind it so much once we're actually in winter, it's just the thought of it that depresses me. It's not even so much the cold as it is the darkness.

The trees are really nice colours here just now though!

I'm not one for winter either. The only thing I like is seeing the winter constellations in the evening. Orion and Taurus especially. :)

Definitely. Seeing the Pleiades is also nice!

As for winter, not a huge fan either, but I really love the crisp air, leaves, and cool weather in the fall. I also live in a more agricultural area, so harvesting means fresh fruits and vegetables.

Edit: Here's what fall looks like here:

Yes, that is my favourite part of the Taurus. :) That whole section of the sky from Sirius to the Pleiades is what I look out for.
Lovely image Rivem. What a landscape.

Rivem, that's absolutely beautiful! Is that where you live?

Early fall is my favorite time of the year, it's just knowing what's to come that's a bummer.

Thanks Curtis! I try to go driving down the remote gravel roads every fall to take photos. I've got hundreds of photos like it around the area.

Edit: These are near where I live, but I'm in a flatter area where stuff can be grown. These photos are just deeper in the mountains.

Yeah, it's been getting dark earlier and light in the mornings later here. Fall is definitely here. It was 45 degrees last night. Supposed to be 47 degrees tonight. It has been unseasonably cool here.

I wish winter would hurry up and come, it's still over 100 F here in Iraq.
