FEELER- would you want 405nm specific Goggles?

I am probably going to buy these, but I just want to know specifically:

-What makes them better than Dragonlasers glasses?
-If they allow fluorescence to be seen clearly, than won't looking at the dot through them hurt my eyes?

The fluorescent light is not at 405nm, it is not very bright, and it is not coherent. Often the fluorescent reaction is overpowered by the "blaze" of the 405nm laser light. By filtering the bright 405nm light from the laser, you can more easily see the light being produced by the fluorescent reaction.

When viewing fluorescence with my 405nm lasers, I often use an unfocused beam shone through a diffraction grating to diffuse the laser light.

Peace,

Yea, even strong light from fluorescence is still polluted by the violet. And the weaker ones , like the mirror trail are even harder to spot.As far as I can tell, even some match sticks are fluorescent.I mean, these are not just for protection alone, that's why they're not the same as 532nm goggles(as long as they don't block to high above 405nm. :-/

That does sound like a definite advantage over a wider range of goggles. In that case, count me in for 2! (Assuming that the goggles are ordered.)

How many orders do we have so far? I would buy these immediately.

well i just spoke with bridge and i will be starting a new thread and i can start accepting payments on these goggles.

i am willing to buy 10 for myself to speed this group buy up so we can finally be protected from 405nm.

i will make a new thread and link you all to in shortly.

if anyone is unsure or wants reassurance a simple email to bridge will confirm that i am trustworthy and this isnt some kind of scam.

great, thank you for this, very nice of you!
hmm, 20 people voted to buy those googles for under 40$, so perhaps you will sell them all once its in BST as GB?
for that low price, they would even work as "free accessoire" with the higher-class blurays someone may be selling.. *hint hint*

cant wait for mine, though i fear it will take a bit..
oh, cant wait #2 for any graphs or infos about the cutoff? 405 is blocked OD4, what wavelength is visible again? lets see what they turn out like!

im very excited as well.

i think 405nm goggles are long overdue.

and im kind of busy at work right now but in about 20 minutes i will start up the group buy thread and can arrange how payments will be accepted.
