FEELER CNI 561nm 5mW pointers.

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

the last one I saw was some 3-4K on DL and they're usually cheaper there than at CNI. and thats for one that's not even beam corrected or fully stabilized.

Surely Dragon Lasers labbies are beam corrected since they re-sell CNI's units? Hum...might need to ask Adam since im getting one soon.

I should get a quote from CNI about the PGL's soon :)

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

they come in corrected and uncorrected versions. the round TEM00 ones are far more expensive than the regular ones, which emit an ellipse. the beam reconditioning requires anamorphic prisms, which are pretty pricy.

sorry to burst the bubble. the 655 and 655R are very different lasers. though honestly theres no reason to need the R version unless you're doing holography or something similarly demanding, in which case you'd want a 1% stability anyway on top of it. the regular elliptical one is just fine. they dont have a diode that just magically spits a circle unfortunately. except perhaps a VECSL which is insanely expensive. and even those are not perfectly round.

why do you think HeNes are still mass produced? :)

Lol, yeah. So the only difference between the 655 & 655R is the corrected beam? Is there a huge stability difference?

So many labby questions

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

well aside from this being off topic...*toots the off topic bell* the stability will be whatever you ask for. has nothing to do with the mode in this case. they'll make it to whatever you specify. but the price will vary depending on what you ask for.

Alright, sweet! I guess the 655 5% stability one will fit me just fine then :)

Wait...if the output is elliptical, wouldn't burning be more of an issue?

Edit: It says on the DL website the following: "Transverse mode Near TE00"

yes it'll be an elliptical TEM00. you know...like an oval? :p similar to how your Libra looked. it wont be a perfect circle. which for all your intents and purposes, is likely just fine.

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

CNI said they cannot provide 561 PGL-III-M.

Edit: I also think we should set-up a date when payments are due, or else this could go on forever :)

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

UPDATE: due to LeHap having an actual life (college, a job etc...) he will not be able to do this without giving people time to sign up for it (otherwise we would literally need to do it within the week) that leaves 3 options: i do it, it doesn't happen, or someone else does it. i find it unlikely that i will be able to do this, so if anyone would be able to carryout this group buy then please, we need you. how can anyone say no to 250$ 561 photons?!?!?!... if you cant tell, im a little desperate. remember, i will literally do all of the organizing, and quote getting and such. all you have to do is collect money, order the lasers, and ship the lasers out.

please help?
please?

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

Sorry to go off topic again a bit, but UK- have you ever gotten a GLP apart? I have a broken 450 that I cannot for the life of me get apart. I think I need to drill into the modules so I can get a heftier pry tool in there (no room for retaining ring pliers).

Re: GB CNI rare/special wavelength pointers and other stuff.

Not really relevant but I extracted a 593.5nm module from the small >5mW CNI pens ( not sure on host ) , it did take a file and vice but the module came out rather easily and fully intact .

This was the extracted modul , again its was a pen style but no sure on exact model .

Hope this ends up following through especially for the price.

Well I can handle the GB if it is done before August 20th. After that, college starts & I'll have a job to focus on too so probably won't be able to handle it effectively :)

i think we need more time. who knows how long it would take for them to make all the lasers and then ship them. plus we need more time to actually get the list of people who want them. there are only 4 people who have been clear they want one, so unless nobody is interested then people need to speak up more. also the fact that we somehow ran into each other on youtube is hilarious.
