Hey everybody! I have a contact in China that has 495nm diodes and 488nm diodes apparently arriving shortly. This is a supplier that others have dealt with on LPF before. I think I am going to get some 495 diodes, so I wanted to see if anybody else wants to piggyback on my order. I'd need to gauge your interest fast, as after Friday I'll be camping in the wilderness and will have little to no reception for a week.

Here are the prices

Sharp GH04955A2G 495nm 55mw 5.6mm, $55 each

Osram PLT5 488nm 60mw 5.6mm $275 each

+ shipping from me to you

The 488s aren't as cheap as I'd like, but it does beat the $900 price tag on eBay. I have yet to decide whether I'll be buying one for my own use.

If I don't get much interest here, I'll push this off til I'm back from my camping trip.

^ lol that guy was lying about his sources. I emailed them all and none of them had the diodes that were listed in that thread.

I'm with you on this one, not real cheap .....but?
I think I'll have to gamble on the 488's a bit and wait and hope that they get cheaper eventually.

Thanks for sharing this offer with us! :yh:

I'm sure DTR would be interested in buying some 495nms, but I think he is gone for a couple days might want to email him.

488nm @ $275 each

I'm on the fence. Is there a minimum number purchased to get that price?

I'll take a 495 or two.
488 is a lot more than I'm willing to go for.

That’s good reason to save money, those are getting cheap! I’d like to see 488nm in Sanwu Striker Host. (My dream)
What about they make higher power multimode 488nm? :D

Yeah, I believe that Sharp will release a 488nm diode sometime this year. I'm reasonably sure they will be far less than these 488nm are. I already have a 493nm in a build and another in my stock, so I am going to pass on these as well. Thanks for the effort, though.

It looks like there is enough interest to do a small order. I think I'm going to put in my order on Friday.

488nm @ $275 each

That's how I feel. I paid more for a 473nm diode years back...but then again the prices on 488nm diodes have to fall eventually. No minimum order here.

If I did get a 488...I don't know if I'd drop it in a leadlight or get a nice custom host from a member here. hmmmm
