EMS Shipping from OLIKE and customs

I have a laser comin through EMS also and that it was handed over to customs 19 days ago when I got the notification. Should I be worried about this since the average release from customs was around a day?

Your item was handed over to Customs(UNITED STATES OF AMERICA USSFOA) at 2010-10-04 11:53:00

You are posting in a thread that is almost 1 year old!
You need to read the rules and stickies and go to the welcome section and introduce your self!

More information is needed like who did you order it from and what kind of laser.

Yes, more information from the poster would be good.
I just re-read the rules/ terms of use to see if I missed anything and there was not any rule regarding how old a thread could be and still added to. I suppose if no one should post in old threads maybe a mod could set things up to automatically close a thread that has not been posted in in the past couple of months.

Didn't see a rule saying a member has to formally introduce themselves in the welcome section either.

I really doubt that many of the members even read the rules or if they did, they didn't think they apply to them. For instance rule #3 states the forum members must be the age of majority, which is 18 years of age in most of the USA, except MS where I believe it is 20 or 21; it's know from polls and 3rd party demographics that over 50% of the members are 18 or under. Of course in some countries the age is much lower.

These things are NOT part of the TOU. They are conventions of the forum. The reasons for them are mostly to help identify and weed out SPAMbots. They are for the most part harmless. They are no cause for tension or codification

(it had been sitting in customs 2 days when I got the email)

Why is mine now taking 20 days to sit in customs?

:oops:Oh forgot it was from wicked lasers that I bought it from.
You need to contact WL.
They have been getting a tons of their shipments confiscated at US customs lately as they are on the customs watchlist under several of the names they ship under.
If a laser is stuck in customs for more than a few days or so, it's bad news and it's probably being opened and investigated.

In any event, I would think you would get either an empty box with green US customs tape on it and or a letter telling you it was not allowed entry into the US.

You will be receiving a box with green tape on it and a letter inside stating that your laser has been confiscated. Once you get it contact WL and they will have you send them a copy of your letter to verify that it did confiscated and they will send you another laser as in this thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f41/wl-warranty-repair-update-56747.html#post801991

Spambots...hum, I suppose.
Anyway, I was feeling extra pissy last night. Lost my iphone a couple of days ago and it's got me in one of those moods.
Sorry.

Update on my laser,
2010-11-19 11:17:00 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA USSFOA Released from Customs,
I just called the Air shipments center in CA and they said it probably was confiscated due to that it could hurt someone and that they have been confiscating lasers for a while. then said that I should keep an eye out for a letter from Customs saying why it was confiscated.

Thanks to everyone that helped out and gave info or enlightened me on the process and ill let you know what happens next.

:thanks:

Always order with a credit card. If you file a timely claim (claim window can range from 30 days to 90 days depending on card issuer) your bank will refund the order amount if you can show you didn't receive what you ordered... actually the merchant has to PROVE you did receive the item...
