Hold up. That is not my lightsaber. I was using it for a reference of what Steampunk meant.

Sorry for the confusion.

The Jacob's Ladder is the first project. Still trying to think how to incorporate a laser into it.

Here you go. If you mount it at this angle it should keep you motivated.:p

lol, I repped you for the saber! I asked to see your projects, you linked to the saber...

Watch out, -1 coming your way when you least expect it!

Believe it or not I find no value in points. For me anyway. I dont sell, and I'm me no matter how many points I have.

I dont expose my art on the web. Its not because I care about judgments, and I dont have a need for praise. To me, my art is personal. I'd gladly show you in person, but posting it on the internet kind of cheapens my art IMO. Plus people can rip off your ideas for profit.

I do all kinds of art. Mostly dark, and mechanical. Pen and ink illustration is what I'm trained in.

Cool, you are a true artist then IMHO.

When ever I feel shitty, I know I can just negative rep you and you won't mind! I would love to see your work, if you ever cared to show my in PM or email...

Wayne.

Rep away man. If I didnt troll I'd have double the points I have now. Most of the time my rep page looks like a Christmas tree, LOL.

No need to be so defensive! I made a suggestion, I was not debating your comment.

@dnar, No problem at all sir. I didn't mean to sound so. What is typed vs what is meant is so easily misunderstood.

Actually, you are dead on correct on when to clean the tip. It should be allowed to cool with excess solder on it. When reheating, it should NOT be wiped clean till ready to use so the oxide is present to protect it.
Then is when you wipe the gray crusty oxide off just prior to use. That crust doesn't conduct heat worth a crap. Trying to force it and feed solder with it on there is a blob waiting to happen.

I split my solder for SMD stuff with a razor blade. The "extra" flux mentioned is a great benefit. Dip the split! It allows less heat normally for a good solder joint and the joint says "this is a good thing". Just make sure if its acid flux its rinsed away. If not, it will eventually "eat" the joint from moisture. If you're not sure, clean it for long term longevity.

@TJ, I know where u r coming from. The need to prove ones self comes from insecurity. I don't think you suffer in that area. No charge for the Psyc evaluation.
I have a rule that my family knows.....bring it to dad before tossing.....I can't say the boxes of stuff in the garage meets my wifes approval, but what I need might be there and I already paid for it.

Thanks for the freebie, LOL. I have no guilt either. Probably because I'm such a self righteous a$$hole, LMAO.

I have a saying "it will come in handy even if I never use it.".

Don't you hate it when you toss something you have not needed for years, then soon after, you need it.....

No guilt and a self righteous a$$hole....hmmm...might be a little Bi Buttpolar(2 cheeks). ROFL

You always need it as soon as you throw it away. That's some cruel universal quantum law of Missing Particle Physics. hahaha
