Hey guys.

One of the many projects I want to do when I find the time is a nice blu-ray labby :) Hopefully at 150-200mW with no dutycycle.

And I was wondering, would a DX labby have a good heatsink I could use for this project? Like this one

Have any of you used a DX labby to build a DIY laser before?

I've been wanting to do the same - I've had that 70mw laser module on order since June 15th - it just keeps getting backordered to a farther ETA date

I have used one of those with a NIR burner and one for a red burner, the aixiz module is an easy fit so a bit of arctic silver and a screw are needed for best contact.

To make a laser with an unlimited duty cycle, all you need is the silicon thermal glue from dx at http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4579

I've run my open can red at 400ma for over an hour, glued to a FLAT heatsink for over an hour, with barely any appreciable warmth. If its for a labby then you don't need to bother with pre drilled heatsinks.
