Driving pet peeves or things that irritate h e double hockeys sticks outta you

Driver's with no courtesy, for example trying to take a left turn with no one behind you that they can plainly see and they just keep driving and driving and driving by you with no one stopping for that 5 only seconds you need.

Tail gating, no signaling, or people who thinks leaving a safe distance gap between you and the car ahead is for them to slip in. Another thing, when in Atlanta, GA driving on the highway, if you do signal, that is just used as an indication of what you want to do so they can cut you off.

All 4 wheels past the stop line. Stopping to let me turn left when there's nothing behind them. Pulling out while I'm half way into my left hand turn. Just to name a few, no doubt I'll come up with some more later today.

Ha, I got another one, probably the one that bothers me the most. Some individuals disagree with me on this, but...... if at a green light and wanting to turn left, pull into the damn fricken intersection! The light can turn yellow or even red, in Alaska, and you are still legal to do so. That way your ass is out of my way the next time the light turns green so you fools don't sit through another light waiting to turn left again! There, I said it!

Once, about 30 years ago, I decided to pull around a car doing that at an intersection, I waited for the oncoming traffic to clear and then turned left and on my way. The guy I went around was so furious when the light turned red on him he burned rubber and pushed through the red light. I laughed so hard.

No signals, speeding (in the US), taking forever to go from a stop when there is clearly enough room for multiple vehicles to go, running red lights/stop signs, doing less than 5 over in the left lane, when an approaching vehicles turns high beams off and the fog lights automatically come on(thanks idiot, you didn't help out at all by turning the high beams off). One driver really ticked me off. The speed limit in the area is 70. We all know that the speed limit is set for ideal driving conditions. It was raining and I was maybe doing 55 while passing a vehicle that was probably doing 35 to 40. A dimwit in his jacked up brodozer POS was tailgating me while flashing his lights. F**k off a-hole.

I typically drive between the limit and 5 over according to my speedometer which seems fairly accurate according to GPS. Sometimes I may do a little more if I'm trying to get around an idiot that wants to speed up as I try to pass.

Right if you are making a left proceed a little into the intersection if safe to do so after the light becomes green.
To see if that action is a violation check Alaska's driving laws. But that won't indicate what was lawful or not 30 years ago.

Thought of another. When 2 cars are stopped at a 4 way stop and one car is to your right the car to your right has the right of way. Virtually everytime I encounter this situation the response is they just sit their not knowing what to do. It's more complicated when four cars arrive at a 4 way stop. Even a 2 way stop presents difficulty for some.

I encounter this situation at least once a day. It's as though people just shut down and can't process the situation.

Ooooh, good one! Yeah, that ticks me off too. Also people that are only half way in the left turn lane, so you need to go around them when you're going straight. Or people turning left at an intersection that are just about on the wrong side of the road with their wheels turned left.

There's another intersection in town here where the right hand lane is right turn only, the left lane (there are two) is left and straight (down to one lane on the other side). There's a couple signs, road markings, the whole 9 yards, it's pretty obvious how that intersection is supposed to work. Still get people cutting me off or almost crashing into me to go straight from the right hand lane. That or I get stuck behind them waiting to go straight while I'm waiting to turn right on a red. Either people don't care or they are oblivious, either way, they shouldn't be driving.

By far where I live now it's the worst classless drivers iv'e seen..Again though iv'e thought that before where I used to live. Stupid driving eerks me something fierce but the self centerness driving is something else:mad:

I drove in Boston once about 40 years ago, scared me to death, those folk are vicious, but then I went to Atlanta last summer, probably worse.

Here is my list. :p
Drivers on their mobile phones. :tsk: Big no-no in the UK.
Driving without indicating, ticks me off.
Tail-gating or unnecessary revving up the engine showing impatience.
People purposely putting their full-beams on to dazzle oncoming drivers.

But for me as a pedestrian, the most annoying and dangerous things are.
People failing to look before speedily reversing out of a driveway. Been hit myself by someone doing this.
And people failing to stop at crossings. I have had to dart out of the way of a driver on a zebra crossing before now.

Motoring rant over. :D

You have Zebra crossings in the UK? Edit: nevermind, not like a moose crossing we have in Alaska, I should have guessed you meant striped. :p

People doing 35 on a slip road to a 70 motorway .

I've encountered people stopped on slip roads several times. Completely stopped.

Another one is pedestrians walking down the middle of the road in a parking lot or some such, move over! I know you can hear me, my truck sounds like a tank coming down the road.
