Driver help?

So I build an LM1117 driver... pretty simple set up. I grabbed the 3.01Ohm resistor from the Rkcstr driver (it broke, unfortunately, so I salvaged that 2W resistor), and stuck it in my new driver.

But... why the hell won't it work?! I am getting currents of .5A out of it with a 3.01Ohm resistor. That's not right! And weirdly enough, it starts out at like 400mA then climbs up to around .51A.

Anyone have any ideas?

Further, it starts out at like 1.2A and quickly drops down to around .45A, but then it starts rising again.

Exactly. That's why I am wondering why I am getting so much extra current! The resistor isn't faulty, either. I checked it.

Did You ohm out the resistor? Do you have the Caps on the input and output? they are required om an LM1117.
