and now i have chosen a host
DealExtreme: $10.90 C6 DIY Cree LED Flashlight Full Casing/Shell with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650)
but i believe it doesnt come with the driver
but i see pp desoldering all the components on the driver and connect wires from the driver they want to use to the flashlight driver
and now im wondering if i rlly need to do this or something?? when u connect it to the driver where do u connect it and what for??

I don't know if the driver pill is constant current or not which is what a LD needs. I'm sure a vet will pop in and let You know.

It looks like there is no driver in the DIY version. It just has an empty pill, so that you'll need a driver!

You need to read some more. And Please learn how to type. It makes it hard to read. Not to mention how little this scentence makes sense:

"ya ik but just 1 driveR? like micro drive or something?
but then how can i hook it up for the battery/??"

Spend the time to say something or dont talk. Its like just hearing a child make Noises.

A "Micro Drive" isnt a driver. The is however a "Micro FlexDrive" and Micro BoostDrive"

You hook the driver to the pill which takes current from case and the spring.

Also MANY people sell a heatsink for that host. A guy named Mohrenburg sells them the cheapest.

Good Luck

I can't believe I'm going to say this but.... I agree with Toaster. You should read more. Check out some of the links in my sig, they should answer most of you questions. If you have some more specific questions after reading those then come ask.

You might get luck and someone will come along, hold your hand, and walk you through every little step but most members don't like to spoon feed. Your question is very basic.

Im willing to tell the guy something if he learned how to type. I just have a feeling this is another person that doesn't understand the dangers and risks with lasers and just wants one now.

At least when I got here, I knew how to type. Go through DTRs stuff. Its golden. He is a boss. Ok?

Quite honestly, I don't know what you want. Like I said look through DTRs tuts. Lots of pictures for people that don't know english that well.

:S

They use the board and the spring (which is already soldered to it) and put together the LD driver with her, because the flashlight drivers are usually made to fit in the host, so the flashlight driver ends up serving as a support and connection between the LD driver and the host.

Well How would I know what you saw?

"Yeah, thanks I saw that. Probably what I am going to do"

Could have worked.

Remmeber you will need an Aixiz module and a lens. You can talk to Jay for that.

i have another question..
well im deciding on which diode i should go with ..
phr 803t or the SF-AW210 because the phr i was going to order comes in the heatsink and i dont wanna risk trying to remove the pcb and all that off it ...
but modwerx selss the sfaw210 with everything remove (i think)

Personally, I like the 6X blu ray diode from the GGWH20L sled. It can handle a more current than the 6X from the SF-AW210 diode. The bonus is, you also get a LCC 650nm red diode in the same sled for another build. This sled is a little more expensive than the SF-AW210 sled but IMO worth it because you get 2 diodes. I know http://hightechdealz.com carries it but I didn't see it at Modwerx. Highteckdealz also offers to ship it extracted, extracted and pressed in an AixiZ module, and leads soldered on.
