i want to run one of senkat's 808 diodes at around 250mA. Is there any driver that can do this with 1 CR123

If you have a die greenie you could use the driver out of that if it has a pot or it set at 250mA.

I'm guessing the Lavadrive can't drive down to 2V?

If you need something now, I would think his 'Groove' driver should be able to do that (1V dropout plus 2V for the diode, equals 3V input).

I'm also working on a driver based on a similar circuit that should theoretically do the same thing but still retain the small size of my driver, but I'm not sure when that will be ready  :-/

the flex driver will break if it has to give less then 2.4 volts.

Just run a diode in series with the output, will bump the voltage required up.

That only increases the maximum voltage input.[/quote]

He's not talking about the input (battery) side, he's talking about putting the diode in series with the laser diode on the output side, which should increase the required voltage to a level safe for the driver.
