Dodggy TTL

hey Sean, check out your post on PL, i'm going to share the TTL amp with you there once I recieve the diagram. I can post it here aswell if anyone wants it.

Here ya go

Does it work? ;D Tested my DMX board TTL output. its very erratic, very! :'( will build the amp and see what happens. Thanks!

PS. are those two grounds connected to -5V or the scanner PSU ground?????
And R1 and R4 what are the the resistances? 4k7????

hey, I just tried this circuit and it works perfectly!

The only modification I had to make was a pot over R5, to adjust the brightness.

The grounds are connected to - of the 5V

the 4K7 resistors are 4.7K resistors. Most electronics shops label them as 4K7 on the box, so not a big problem.

Schweeeeeet!!! time to go scratch in my electric box for parts.........

Things, could you please post the colour coding for those resistors :-[....... my multimeter just died RIP :'(

OK., the 4.7K is Yellow, Violet, Black, brown
1K are: brown,black,black,brown
10K: brown, black, black, orange (On the calculator, it says red, but it looks like orange on the resistor.

tried it....... um works kinda....... :-?
Seems to work better with no 5V going into it and with a 10K pot, but when i get the blanking right its all too dim >:( %#%$^ing DMX!!!!

Umm wait, are you trying to make the cheaper laser's TTL better? You will probably find that the laser cant blank fast enough, or the DPSS crystals dont warm up fast enough for the pattern to work.

:-[that could be the problem, might switch over to my Flexmod 1 drive and see what happens ::)

4K7 = 4700 Ohms or 4.7K Ohms.  So far, it looks to me that the laser TTL inputs have internal pull up resistors and output full power with open TTL input.  Maybe a resistor between the driver and laser will allow "1" to be a little higher. I haven't built mine up to the testing point yet.
