DIY Laser Power Meter Interface Module

:-? Why? What are they worth? I don't plan on parting with them since I need a power meter, and one with data logging would be perfect!

They're worth a lot to the people who don't have 'em but want one...
back when the project was happening, our source for the heads ran out, leaving a bunch of folks wanting but not getting. That head makes an excellent power meter, and much cheaper than buying a comparable meter. I wish I'd bought a few, could have made decent money on assembled power meters. btw, lots od nice components are on that amp board.

can you get more?

:-)

Unfortunately I can't get anymore. Glad to hear they make great meters though!

Any chance of getting this interface board with the programmed pic anymore?

As far as I know... those parts were sold out quite a while ago...
and the Member that offered them hasn't been on the forum since last November.. :'(

I hate to hear that, seems like such an ideal solution and the software he wrote looks great.

iirc, everything except the program for the PIC would be easily reproducible from what's been posted...  :-?

I have one of the thermal power meter heads from this thread. If anyone is interested in buying it, PM me. I also have Knimrod's non-programmable board for it, assembled. All you would need do to get it working is hook it up to a multimeter.

any chance of that being ran by usb?
i was kinda hoping to buy one of these and run off a laptop for portability id this can be modded into output of usb ill commit

i'm not sure if i have the skills needed to build this. any chance someone has a completed DIY LPM for sale?

hey, I just remembered that the PIC was only used for the PC interface - all you need for the meter portion is an op-amp and a cheap digital panel meter (plus the circuit board and parts that were already listed). You don't need the PC interface to do measurements, only to do the fancy graphing.

Mohrenberg, turtlecannon's stuff would be trivial to get together. I could tell you where to get the missing meter, cheaply. No time to explain now, but pm me and I'll get back to you later.
