Diode press for sale $15.00

My diode press just arrived & what an ingenious little design!

This has to be the fastest delivery Ive ever had from America too, Thanks Pyro :gj:

Hey Pyro,
Ive just tried out my new press for the 1st time & it pushes my laser diode into the aixiz flush with ease!

But when I did some research into the correct way of inserting the diodes I found this

insert%20LD%20correctly01.jpg

Question:
Is it worth trying to file down my diode press tip to 5.50mm so it slots into the Aixiz diode hole thats also 5.50mm dia:thinking:

If so, id like to buy the diode remover too, as ile need to remove the diode before attempting to get the x2 parts to slot together.

at the moment my press tip is 5.80mm diameter so will only ever push the diode flush!

All good fun :)

I think if you check it is below flush, try putting stright edge across the back of the Aixiz module you will see light between the stright edge and the back of the diode. at lest all of the ones I have set are like this, and I use a machinest vise to set them, I squeze them till they stop moving together then apply maby one or two more ounes of force, mine come out like the one on the right in your picture, they are only a couple thousand's below the surface so it's pretty hard to see with out some kind of help like a stright edge.
Give it a check and let me know ! Thanks

I did your straight edge test & this ones definitely sitting flush,
Its possible I have a freak aixiz so ordered another!
If I do end up having to file my press tool ile use my cordless drill as the lathe, no big deal.
:paypal: for the diode extractor.

great to hear.
I got your package sitting on my table, will ship it out when i get to the post office (prob monday when i ship out all daves stuff too)

......btw, do you have access to explosives? :D
I really want to throw a stick of dynamite into a near-by river.....

I sneak on to some private property thats owned by bass pro, you can't see it from any road, but there is a huge lake..
when it rains, it has a dam that drains into this creek, it's also where i get all my crappie with a shad net!
Anyways i was fishing one day and thought i had snagged my line on a log, i couldn't feel any vibrations in the pole, and this thing was barely moving along, and then just a small jerk and my line snapped...whatever it was was huge, and i wanna blow it up :) spider wire rarely ever snaps like that.

Hi Pyro,
Just got the other bits I ordered from you thanks, just the extractor to come.

Im So glad I ordered one of your custom Aixiz modules as now I see why your tool would not press below flush with the Aixiz I got left of pic
The problem was I previously purchased whats described as 'the Original' Aixiz module from OdicForce
Only these modules do differ slightly from the ones you got, which explains why the diode would not press all the way down.
I had no idea there were x2 types in circulation.

Notice in the picture the Aixiz on the left does not have the chamfer round the hole like yours on the right.
This is what prevented the LD from pressing in properly with your tool.
Need to order some spare Aixiz... Your type!

i got the chance to use the diode press......absolutely amazing!
If only i had known, i would of bought one a long time ago. This thing works flawless every time, perfectly pressing the diode every time and makes the process SOOO much quicker.

i love this thing so much, thanks pyro.

this is easily a MUST in terms of laser tools...i put it up there with a DMM in regards to necessity

And if you get the diode removing press which removes all diodes from Aixiz modules or direct press heatsinks with an Aixiz style lens 9.5mm, there is a brass cup you can get that attaches to it for removing GGW diodes from there OG heatsink.
Have a good day !
