digikey has 210mw bluray laser diodes






$1200? I heard that you can get a 4x blu-ray writer for roughly the same kind of money.....

Um $1200 for 200+mw of blu sounds cheap to me
 
I'll wait until 2015, when maybe everyone and their grandmother has a RGB laser pointer on their keychain. :P
 
you can get a 2x blu-ray burner for about $400 dont know how powerful the laser is but it burns dvds too so you get two diodes.
 
1200$? How much power would I get for that money @ 473nm? 50mW already? 100?

It only puts out 105mW constantly, the 210 is pulsed. Lame.

If i get an underwater imaging grant, AND if the bluray/ps3 diodes I bought a while back work out, I might just by a few of these. 405nm is PERFECT for seawater.
