you can get a 2x blu-ray burner for about $400 dont know how powerful the laser is but it burns dvds too so you get two diodes.

If i get an underwater imaging grant, AND if the bluray/ps3 diodes I bought a while back work out, I might just by a few of these. 405nm is PERFECT for seawater.
