dicks an lasers

well ive got one of them 200mw keychains from fp (not that i have it on my key chain) but am sure a quick shot off that would of made them shut up. i think they would of knowen the risks as they looked older enough and it was 23ish at night.

I think a quick shot of that would probably be weaker than 5mW :na:
 
about 15 years ago when I was a kid and got my first lil keychain red, I remember me and a friend went around the block on our bikes shining it at things in the dark. I noticed that when I hit a neighbors window with it I heard some people hit the ground (that was when it was popular for every gun in every movie to have one and shine em all over your windows and interior, especially snipers... lol). Some fun commenced as we went around the block. We didnt shine it on any people, just their blinds / curtains. Eventually I shined it on a what was a cops house. He caught us a lil ways down the road and gave us a lecture about how some people use them on guns so we were scaring people and told us to go home. Good times lol. Never did that again.

Kids are idiots, all of us were and we know it.
 
Calling the cops for a direct beam shot seems the only option. Any retaliation with a counter beam shot would have lead to the one eye guy scenario

I am curious, what are cops going to do about laser pointer beams directly "assaulting" people in cars? Is it a felony?
 
There will be a way to make it a felony. I know of a few things I'm sure they would try to pin it under but I never actually looked up the actual laws (not to mention it varies by state)

I was thinking firing of a deadly missile, but apparently that only applies to physical objects (rocks, spit, bullets, etc.)

Dude you are such a goodie goodie. Why would you call the cops? By the time they got there, the people would be gone.

Being blinded while driving is no joke, calling the cops and have them look around is one way to get that message through to idiots.
 
One solution could have been: return with equal number of friends + double the number of water balloons :eg:.
 
I was on vacation a few days ago (we were walking to go get some ice cream) and somebody was pointing a little red laser at us from a hotel. I had my blu-ray on me so I defocused it and pointed it right at the ground in front of me. I think they stopped after that. I saw them using it on the way back to the hotel, this time they were only pointing it at their ceiling. I hope they got the message.

Being blinded by idiots with full beam on behind you is bad enough let alone a laser pen !!! :)

I don't Think you get it. lasers can very efficiently be used as a weapon. They are not toys, and can blind people at even long distances. Why do you think pointing them at airplanes/helis is illegal? Why do you think importing them to most countries ( over 5 mw ) is illegal? Why is selling over 5 mw is illegal in most countries as well?

what if someone who had bought a laser walked around time square blinding people? There would be extreme destruction and chaos.

Their availability makes them dangerous, but their power makes them lethal.

-1 for trying to doubt the seriousness of the power of lasers
