I just finished my latest build, which consisted of cannabalizing a hotlight with a 12X 405nm diode, MicroBoost driver and a G1 lense, which I got from Ray J Neal.

He sent a complimentary mini host with the rig that I liked a whole lot better, so I stripped the hotlight and rebuilt it into the mini host.

It runs off a single 14500 battery, and the thing has a great heatsink with a duty cycle of over 75 seconds on and off. Here's a pic of the laser and the LaserBee graph:

Oh yeah, and I guess I should include a beam shot too. This is with a flash and no smoke!

Looks good :gj:

Is the tailcap supposed to be crooked?

Thanks Rocket!

Nope, no clue why the tailcap did look so off in the picure, but I swapped it for another.

even with a G-1 lens, thats pushing that little diode.

Wow! That is a low of power for a 405.

Nice build and power....

I see charging the batteries is.. (like Martha Stewart says)...
a good thing.... ;)

That's what I was thinking ;) I wonder what the diode life will be like.

I built this unit over about a year ago, and it put out 778. I believe it was determined a while back that this diode (from a BDR-S06J) is 10x?

Either way, it's a nice bit of power.
