Custom ''dummy'' test load, by Flaminpyro

This is a review of Flaminpyro's custom dummy test load for both red and blu diodes.

Flaminpyro has not yet posted this, as one of his items offered. He will soon!
I was charged $15.00+ shipping.

I ordered this and a diode press from flaminpyro about a week ago.
It is a custom made test load, or dummy load. For both blu and red diodes.
Even tho these can be easily built. I don't think I could, nor would I have the patience to make it as nice as this

It is very well designed. All the parts are mounted on a CRKT board, incased in a epoxy resin for durability.
Their are two gold plated pins exposed for making contact with your DMM.
Their is also a jumper switch set up for testing either red or blu diodes.
Flaminpyro also used very flexible and durable test leads that are for attaching to the diode.

I was playing with it last night. It was hooked up to a rkcstr micro drive.
It is very easy to use.

is there anything you have to change on it to get from red to blu ray modes?

Just move the little cap on the jumper pins over.
Like on the back of DVD drive. You know, to chose the drive as master or slave.

Hey FP... Are these set for PHR ie 6x 1N4001 or for greater drop off voltage such as 6x BR or 8x BR at 7x 1N4001... I see that they are called custom dummy loads... what does that mean exactly?
