If it's 3% silver i'd consider the cost of the stuff to be a drawback as well.
If you get a 250 gram roll of the stuff the cost of just the silver in that would be $4 or so (at silver spot price). This may not seem that much, but considering 250 grams of tin/lead solder with flux costs $10 or so it would be significant.
