Now that I'm on the road to installing the CO2 laser into my laser cutter, I'm on the lookout for some tubing to use for the watercooling.

I'm not exactly sure if it's meant to be like this, but the barbs/nozzles on 1 side of the tube are slightly smaller than the other side. It seems for 1 side, I'd need tubing with an ID of around 8-9mm, and the other side is more like 6-7mm

Does anyone have a cheap source of some super flexible hoses (Maybe silicone) in these sizes?

I reckon some tube used for computer watercooling would work. I'll check up some computer stores :)
 
Since you specifically mentioned silicone, you may want to give a look here:

silicone hose, duct, boots, bellows, sleeves and connectors

It's not terribly cheap, but you may find some in the sizes you need for a good price at a distributor somewhere.

It's top-notch stuff, and they have many different material formulations for different environments and chemical handling needs.

I hope we can see some pics of your CO2 in operation....:D


(edit)- Oh, +1 on the Tygon. That's great stuff too, and probably easier to come by than the Flexfab.

I would assume that the different sized nozzles are for water flow direction. The water should flow in through the large one and out of the smaller one. This way there is a bit of water pressure inside the tube which prevents air pockets and allows for more even temperature. That's just my best guess, though.
 
I just went down to the local hardware store and purchased surgical tubing. works just fine.
 
Computer water cooling tubing will do it, I'd get the slightly more expensive stuff tho - the cheap tube kinks really easily. I just redid my loop in the PC with tygon, and it was much easier to work with than the stuff supplied with the WC kit.
