Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

Can you check if they'd make either of those into a PGL-H module? Various power outputs.

I expect >$1400 for 5mW

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

Oh yes. I've been waiting so long for these things.

Now to choose between 405nm, 488nm, 604nm and 607nm for my next handheld. And raise $$$$

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

488 or 607 are my votes  488 is such a cool color, and while I have never seen it I think 607 would be as well. 405 is a get whenever wavelength IMO. Just get an ebay laser for the meantime to hold you over :P

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

It'll likely be entirely dependent on price between 488, 604 and 607. 405nm is already planned separately for christmas.

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

Email has been sent to Ava. I asked about all the PGL-H module questions as well as asked about prices for the GLP's internal modules.

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

I was browsing CNI and noticed PGL-III-C in 593.5nm. the sheet says 2mW-20mW, just curious to know what the price on these might be (the 20mW specifically), wonder if any other members are interested. it wouldn't suprise me if the cost is more than a 589nm 80mW

I'd also say 405nm is a "get whenever" wavelength

iirc lazereer has one... he may know offhand

Heh i know it is, but I'm aiming for ~1W when the time comes.

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

1W ehh, in that case let me know where to get such a thing, multi or single mode IDC. 1W of 405 would be awesome

Can there be 1W single-mode 405nm diode handhelds? I was thinking 700mW of single-mode 405nm was a freak diode.

multi-mode wouldn't bother me much, I noticed the 405nm single-modes have a halo around the dot, giving the beam a more conical appearance over a distance than might otherwise be expected of other single-mode lasers. not much worse than the widening rectangle beam of a 445nm multi-mode. if it's as bad as 638 I may pass

I checked lazeerer's profile sig, that guy has a crazy cool collection, I was made jealous by most of them

Some chilled 3.8mm diodes can handle over 1W.

Single mode too

I was looking at one of Lazeerer's posts, he mentions multi-mode MM opnext 405nm diode, pretty pricy. depending on the divergence, could be cool. how would one go about a chilled handheld at 0 degrees C?

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

I have no idea what that multimode opnext diode holds.

TECs are wonderful little monsters ;)

Re: CNI GB Round 2: It is Time

The diodes you're talking about are known to the hobby, they're just not by any means cheap or practical

You sure about that? I can probably get a lot of 7 for $100 shipped. I need to send an email to verify. 5.6mm multimode 405nm, capable of 1.9W in their housings. However these are bare diodes without the housings and modules, etc. So it's just a lot of 7 bare diodes for $100 shipped last I checked.

As far as the 604nm and 607nm, I sent an email to Ava during lunch asking about increments of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 (607, 60 (604), 100, 100 and 120mW (607). I asked for both lab units, and portable. I threw in portable because they do several wavelengths in portables without mentioning it on their site. 561nm being a prime example.

I got an auto-response saying that they are on vacation from the 19-21st, I expect and email on the 22nd or 23rd. I will post the cost breakdowns when I get them :)

I am far more interested in these than I can put into words. I would LOVE 50mW+ of orange.

What...? Messaging you about that... I do believe those diodes' specs were faked from the seller... messaging you.

They're really reluctant to do 561nm... but I emailed them asking pretty much the same specs.

For now, my "orange" needs are satisfied by 589nm after viewing 561nm :)
