You need a rainy day fund of like $500 set aside for these moments

Not a bad idea. Just start a savings account as a rainy day fund, and you won't have to make these posts as often. I've done a similar thing, and it's helped a few times.

You'd have to hold off on unnecessary purchases for a bit to fill it up though.

I just fired up that 532nm 2.6 watt monster today. That's one beautiful beam. :drool:

Gotta get some beam shots.
