CLOSED--Projector ordered-- 9mm 445nm diode GB

All sent, sorry, I am pretty busy and I don't have the ability to check LPF from work. I can't do much once they've been sent so I can't really offer a reason for any delays..

That's good news. Thanks for letting us know. I, for one, don't need excuses, just status. If it takes long, you're busy, hungover, lazy, whatever, it's all good, as long as I know what's going on. :) Good job getting them shipped.

Did the lenses get shipped with the diodes? I got the two you mailed to me for sinner, but there are no lenses with them

Has anyone else got their diodes yet , Do check the lenses please :| Since the projector with 19 diodes is the one infact with the crappy lenses according to DTR..

Ok so we have 19 9mm 445 diodes and the lenses are the same crappy ones as the Casio projectors have.:(

Somehow looking at the block I feel I got shorted by three diodes.

P.S: DTR if this is breaching the vets code please let me know if it needs to be removed..

P.S.S: I have asked bloompyle several times on several different occasions about the projector ordered , any link or model # but never got a reply he skipped it everytime , If this infact was the Optoma ZX210ST we bought, So. I suppose we're looking at money lost rather than saved!!

?? :/ he initially told me they came with 9mm lenses? Otherwise this useless if i still need to buy G-1 lenses :(

That's the horror, And i believe we'll have to buy G-Lenses now..

If we had bought the 24 diode projector this wouldnt have happened and i just checked the current price with free shipping from NJ USA is $1561.30 , Thats at Fleebay!
You might get better prices anywhere else if you are actually dedicated to host a GB..

That would be $65 per diode with a better lens than G-1 so..

@Thanks mohrenberg for chiming in, I guess hold my modules and other stuff while this gets sorted out!!

Apparently this post was never made. I meant to add it when dtr told me a while back, not sure what happened...this the optoma, we missed the BenQ because orders came in too slowly and we missed that chance. They are the crappy ones. If anyone wants them still, then go for it. Also nobody is making anyone by G lenses, so that's all up to you to drop the money on the lens.

Calling me out on not getting the 24 diode projector isn't necessary. I found a cheap benQ when we started this, then I couldn't find it anymore so we switched. If you follow the posts you will see that. We didn't start this with the optoma, I actually lost money in this endeavor because I had to switch to the optoma. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't have to, but I already set the $65 price and I wasn't about to go against my word and bump the price up because we missed our chance. So I bit the bullet and went with the optoma. It wasn't until after that I knew of the lenses being of poor quality.

Well thanks for clearing that up, the curiosity was killing me.. No harsh feelings from my side!

It would be nice for you to host another GB though of the BenQ, The prices are way down now since the newer model just arrived so, I would buy again!

I would have preferred to have known this before payment was asked for. I feel as if I have just purchased a M140 for more than it is worth. But its alright, I dont really mind :) I see you were just trying to help out the community.

I have ill feelings towards another GB. I'd do it, but in a little while. I don't have enough hours in the day to deal with a GB, and my work. I personally feel I already failed the community with this botched attempt, so I will consider one later down the road. I test on my current training in a few weeks, once that's out of the way, I'll see if I can do another GB.

Sorry if you feel that way i havent called you out !! just yet :eg: It was your good intentions which i am aware of, the reason i said "no harsh feelings".. And what if i tell you i knew this whole when you didnt replied the model # i would have left the gb on time but still need the crappy lenses just to friggin see how crappy they actually are? No worries mate!!

A lot of times if I'm out of the office, I'll check LPF I I can, read messages, then plan to answer later when I have the chance. We're all aware how that went. I do apologize for the confusion.

Re: $65 9mm 445nm diodes

No had feelings from me either. But i would off loved to know this when i paid indeed. I just got into this thread paid and did not look at it anymore since i was running the skylaser GB and had plenty of other stuff to do. So untill just now i did not know there were not any lenses included which is kind off a bummer :undecided:

Order a few from dtr a few seconds before this thread :( what would it cost including the 9mm lens ? And international shipping?

Greetings,,

$65 Cost is with stock lens included. International looks to be $23.95 for a priority flat rate envelope. Express is $44.95.

Any i use them for something eventually ;)

I'm ready to take on the next GB of diodes. I have tools. I have skills. But to be honest, I'm afraid of ordering the wrong thing, or stumbling across something unexpected, and looking bad on the forum. I suspect Bloom may be feeling the sting of things not going as smoothly as anticipated. I'm glad I'm not on the wrong end of that. ;)

But I'd love to do this, with some couching on how to prepare. I can already see I need a batch of anti-static bags. And postage should be cheap, since most of these could ship first class in a padded envelope.

As soon as the projector arrives, I'll get on it and extract them - with an emphasis on getting them out the door and shipped. I've got a Dremel tool, too, so I doubt there is really anything to stand in the way. I even have a set of those tamper-resistant torx drivers!

I'll await some feedback before I open a new thread. PM me, if that's more appropriate.

EDIT:

I would, of course, want Bloom's consent. It was his idea to offer the GB. :)

I would also do it no problem.. This is a lot less work then the skylaser GB. only it is better to do it in the US it seems projectors are cheaper there.

greetings,,
