Don't think I understand how all the fee stuff works. Can someone educate me on this?
When paying as a gift, I know I pay an extra fee up front. I assumed that this was a credit card fee or is this a fee that goes to paypal or a mix of both?
So for example if I sent Offroad 100 as a gift I know I pay a fee to someone and he gets the straight 100 right?
Then when he sends the money to Kevin he gets charged 4% on top of what he sends so he needs to send the difference so it doesn't come out of Kevins pocket. I must not be thinking about this properly because it would seem that I haven't paid enough then unless Offroad is getting the extra I was charged in the beginning.
I don't get it but then again I've only bought things using paypal. Sure this must be simpler than I'm making it out to be......:confused:

Offroad, will you be sending out specific Paypal payment info/instructions by PM or in this thread?
I calculated my total payment to be:

Pen-635-120mW 55$
HL460- 100mW 65$
HL405- 500mW 115$

shipping est 2.5 Kg@39
Total: 274
+ 26 (TIP to Offroad for doing this GB =:-) ) = 300

T. (new to Paypal)

No. it is really simple. The seller (the one you are paying) is the only one who gets charged 4% paypal fees. You as a customer don't get charged for anything. If you pay me 100$ the normal way i would only receive 96$. If you send money as a gift and send me 100$ i also receive 100$ because "gifts" are not charged with paypal fee's.

I must have taken a stupid pill this morning (but in my defense I've been up since 2:30).
Still don't understand how the 4% to Kevin is getting covered without someone paying for it or was/is it allready covered by the laser prices....
I do get charged a fee for sending as a gift. It's higher if I use a credit card vs. right out of my checking unless somehow I'n doing something wrong and I shouldn't be. It always tells me that I am covering the fee and not the receiver.
If I send you 60 from the credit card I get a fee of 2.64 (4.4%)
Is my stupid showing?:p

Yes, it is sometimes hocus pokus with the PP fee. It depends on the type of account ( basic, upgraded, merchant etc ), the currency of the transaction ( US$, €, etc ), the type of the transaction ( gift, goods etc ). 4% is a lot of money. I should have gone into banking business. :D

I might make a last-minute change to my order (adding a laser), but I need to work out my finances really quick! It's closing so soon! I'm so excited that I can't wait!

Yeah, no kidding B. Don't know how it is there but bankers hours are ridiculous. How can the institutions that hold your $ have such cruddy hours of operations? Never understood that. Thank goodness for the ability to do practically everything online.
Will be nice when I can get some play money again (not looking good until maybe the end of March as I will hit my :bday: then). I intend for you to get my $ thrown at when I can. Love your builds and more importantly the friendship. Thanks again for being VERY kind and understanding....
By the way, I know you've heard this over and over but your pics are sick. I for one am looking more forward to you hopefully doing a review on the 520 than anything else from this GB including my own :pop: Not just about having a good camera, it's knowing how to use it.

Yeah i am a fan of blord his pics. He makes me want to buy my own DLSR camera. Only i don't know which one :( I want one that is fairly easy to use and get a good grip on beamshots as i am not a pro fotographer. Also used for vacation and such.. open for suggestions :tinfoil:

I am interested in ordering a 445 single mode and a 515 (im using the actual nm, not the Slylasers numbers for these). But I noticed in some later posts that there might be freebies and options available that i am not seeing in the first post.

Can you post what the freebies and options and associated costs are so i can firm up my order before the deadline?

If I don't see these posted I guess I will pass. I don't have time to read through 11 pages of posts to try and find this info. sorry. if you can summarize in the first thread that would be very helpful (eg. white host, flashing 635 pen, IR filter, separate crystals, etc - these are some of the things i've seen mentioned).

I did a few calculations and decided that I'm not going to add another laser to my order. I'm going to be saving up for a LaserBee LPM, though! I really want to know how all my lasers are performing, so it's high-time I got one.

Hey there. All info cost wise, is in the first post. Only thing not in the first post is that the white option for pens and IR filters are free and for your case the gift would be a 80mW 450nm pointer for 500$+ orders 300$+ orders have a green flash pointer 50mW.

i am sure you will figure it out if you really want that laser ;) you have a few hours left to read post 1 :)

With ya on that one andrew. Started acumulating all these units and it irritated me to no end that I could only guess what they were actually putting out (and the guess method is about the worst there is I think). I'll get a graphing one in the future but I need to be satisfied with the one I have for the time being. Really want an Opher like a few of the guys here have.
It's not just a relief to get an actual measurement but is a tattletale for whether you're getting ripped off or not.

80mw 450nm? is this a single mode laser that is the freebie? otherwise is this really a 445? if so, how do you get 80mw out of it without the beam looking like crap?

please clarify if you can so i know what this is exactly. thanks

If possible can I have all my pens in black and no IR filter for the 532nm's ?
