Hi Folks,
I would like to share a Chinese host i modded, I received this host for free with my order from Lasertechgear and other goodies. Well i have a bunch offices so i'll start with the first eight for this thread. I don't buy chinese lasers but i'm sure many are very good , i just prefer to build my own. Don't like dealing with all those different threads and glued in parts and so on.so i drilled the sink to fit a 12mm module the best i could.and fitted in a 21mm contact board. drilled and tapped with a 4-40 set screw in the sink.

In it is ;
1) NUMB44 diode - A.Barnett
2) X Drive set to 3.5A - Flameingpyro
3) 2-16340 AW protected cells
4) G2 lens tested / and a 3 element lens tested

Rich:)

Hi VV,
I couldn't resist modding the chinese machine work out of this one thank you for looking buddy here's some more pics of the build. Removing anodizing for grounding, pairing the module and driver . The first LPM reading is a 3 element lens and the second is a G@ lens reading . and a beam shot and final completion.

sweet mod! what batteries are you using? I only ask because the reading is a bit lower than DTRs diode tests.

I believe he said in the OP its set at 3.5A plus he's using 2 lenes as comparison

Hi Green,
It uses 2-16340's it's a shame for this nice host. Oh and the 44 i used was not a very efficient diode it's been sitting in my stock for a while . It was not bought from DTR so i ran stat a low driver setting at 3.5A's and the heat sink wasn't that large so all the parameters involved this was the best choice for long diode life.
I have other 44 builds that peak over 7W's and level at 68 to 6900mW's. Diodes are luck of the draw and how some are harvested from the arrays. Thanks for your comments alway welcome Pal
