You will find argon units from as little as $150 for power source AND head to many thousands of dollars for just the head.

You will find two major configurations of heads.

You will find single line and multiple line units.

Just search "argon ion" or "argon laser" in eBay . . . . and be patient

Climbak just had one for sale. I don't know if it already sold or not.

Argons are very cool, depending on what you're looking for. If you want something you can carry around and show your friends, argon is not for you. If you want a space heater, something that will reflect itself upon your power bill, as well as an awesome laser which you cant really bring anywhere, then argon is for you!

My avatar picture is a multi-line argon being split into its individual wavelengths. Here's another picture:

depends on how big the room is. BUT 100mW is good for a first gas laser! Chris (the seller of that laser) actually posts here on the forums and I'm sure he could tell you more about it.

I'm NOT a "show" guy, but I don't think I would want to haul an argon set-up around to places. Diode lasers are much more compact and light.

I agree 100%.... but if you're cold and simultaneously want to put on a show... its a great choice. ;D
