I was looking today for a new lens to replace my old 3-element lens and I came across this cheap 2 element lens on ebay.

I was unable to find any information on it, so I was wondering if anybody knows anything about it or if it is any better (in terms of efficiency) than the 445nm AR 3-element lens due to it being a 2 element lens?

Those look like the ones O-like has. They are half-way between a G and a 3-element lens.

Better beam then a "G" lens, worse than a 3-element lens.
Worse output then a "G" lens, better than a 3-element lens.

That is if they are the same lens. Try it out!

Just looked at O-like's site and it looks like they just have regular 3-element lenses there, aside from the half-threaded ones, which is there a point to only half-threading them?

nielscol;

I originally introduced the Hi-Power aspherical lens for the 405nm laser diodes.

It had a back focus length of ~2.4mm.

Ebay Lens:
3.The Rear focus distance of this lens is 5.3mm

The longer focal length ebay lens will transmit ~20% less power from the laser diode.
