** catched by police yesterday night **

I'm too new to be able to complain, but if you will accept my opinion, many sigs I see here are too long.

However, many of them contain useful information, so I don't want to turn off all sigs.

Too bad the board does not have a way to mark a particular user's sigs for ignore, or to collapse at least so we had to click to expand them ...
 





Actually I found a solution heh. at least with firefox with adblock plus installed.. Just right click the image and block it. no more problems

Maybe you can get away with that in California, but in Massachussetts the way officers
insist on things is by throwing you on the ground with a knee in your neck.
 
I'm in the US, and fortunately we don't have any laws like that either. I have a cop lady that lives next door. Last night I walked out on my back porch and turned on my arctic and dinodirect 1 watt blue. It was snowing, and I always think it looks so cool to see the beams in the snow. I looked over and saw headlights. She was sitting there in her car. She got out and walked over to the fence and said hi. (we've always had a friendly relationship)
I said, like my new toys? She looked at the beams and said hmm, that's kind of neat! Then she said goodnight and went into her house. I wondered how she would react to my lasers, and now I know.

By the way, I'm thinking about getting one of those o-like 400mw greenies.
Is it pretty decent for the price? They say it has a 100 second duty cycle, and puts out at least 375mw. Does that sound about right?

Actually we have a lot of laws restricting public laser usage in the US, and on the federal level, they're actually a lot more strict than most other places... however the federal laws are rarely enforced unless your doing something extremely retarded and drawing attention to yourself(lasing aircraft/cars/law enforcement or people in general)... or doing something extremely major.. like a major concert or something. Mostly what you have to worry about would be local restrictions.. which do exist in a lot of places. And are far too many for the likes of me to keep track of.. so it's best you do your own research if you really care.

Might be a case of "don't $#it where you eat"
If you confiscate a laser and bad things start happening to your house/vehicle but you can't prove who is doing it, was it worth "enforcing the law"?
Careful bro, I'm not from where you are but I'm still cautious who sees my lasers.

If the police do take your laser, offer to hand it over at the police station if possible. This makes it much harder for an officer to pocket it. Also, be sure to take out the safety key if it has one. Otherwise, you could open a can of worms if a cop accidentally blinds another cop, etc.

I suppose that all depends on how corrupt the local police force is ;)

Also, i guess it would be wise to caution that shining the thing into someones eye is a bad idea - i can imagine the cop-blinding-cop story becoming a reality. There is a warning label on it for a reason, but human stupidity always trumps those :D
