Cash for Gold (I will buy fairly!)

I don't like those "Cell phones for our troops" ads that frequently accompany the Amazon.com orders I buy. Phone calls for troops my ass. The soldiers just use the government lines and internet to communicate with family, not private organizations. What they really do is take the cell phones and either sell them used, or sell them to have their precious metals extracted. At the very least they could provide some tax donation documentation.

I guess it's better than just leaving them to gather dust though.

The way I see it - if just 1 soldier out of all those phones uses them to call home and talk to his family, it's worth it. What do you care if a soldier sells an old cell phone to make a few bucks anyway? It would have gotten thrown in a landfill anyway.

Scopeguy20 - this thread is too funny! I LOVE buying gold, silver, platinum... a had my best purchase ever a few weeks ago - a Johnson/Matthey solid troy ounce of platinum bullion for $400 cash. It's hovering around $1225/ounce today!!!

Man, that's a hot deal jriga! btw, as you may know, gold was $1,000 an oz a year ago, and Platinum was ~$2,000! I believe, give it some months or a very few years, but it likely will go back up there and even higher!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right. PT seems to be at a 'lower' point in it's cycle... the demand had something to do with auto makers buying so much of it for use in catalytic converters to keep emissions down. Platinum & Palladium are the metals of choice for that... I'm curious to see what will happen to the prices once electric and hydrogen cars go mainstream.

My biggest concern when I was offered the PT at that price was that it might be stolen... I spent about 2 hours calling Johnson/Matthey giving them the serial to find out if they had any records or reports. It finally turned out the piece was legit, the guy just didn't know/care what he had. He claimed that's all he was offered from a 'Buy Your Gold' place, so that's what he felt it was worth.

Whatever. Couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. ;D

Well,

Its depends upon which company you choose it could take anywhere between 24 hour and a week before their appraisers look at your gold and give you the price they are willing to pay. At this time you can choose to accept the offer or ask that your jewelry be returned at no charge to you. Many times you will get a better offer if you ask that your jewelry be returned.

did you test it to make sure its real? a lead centered silver piece could be just as convincing. and would take about 10.00 to make.

Hey, scopeguy - I was curious to check-out your cool-sounding jewelry site you mentioned (I used to do rock collecting :yh:), and also to toss you some free SEO tips for your site ;), but I can't seem to pull it up?

Whois also says the owner of your domain name is somebody in Arizona? Is that you - I thought you were in California?

What's up?
