Case Connection to 9mm Diodes?

Hey everyone - how do you get a freakin' case connection to a 9mm 445nm diode? I have tried everything, and nothing seems to work!

I suppose heating up the diode till the melting point of the solder isn't very good for the diode. Maybe make a case connection with the module first and then press the diode in.

How about a lasorb with a leg soldered to the case?

The issue is, how do I solder it to the case? Why would I use a lasorb?
