TheDeviation- I've gone through the password reset procedures and still can't get back into the account. Oh-well.

Edit, trying to go to the profile page, the account seems to have been purged over the years.

I had a account that I forgot my password to. But I prefer the account I have now anyway. You will soon get back to where you were and make friends.

Haha, most of the people that were active the last time I was around are now gone.. I have seen so many changes it is scary..
405nm diodes being new, lm327? drivers being the norm, microflexdrives being the only option for some builds, aluminum heatsinks being sufficient (scary thought there), the first class IV visible handheld lasers, all of it...

PS, just took some pics of my toys. Just have to UL them and link them.

That breadboard jumper mess is a voltage divider with taps to turn 12VDC into 0VDC-5VDC to make the laser lasey vs lazy.

That is scary, I saw that your old account was set up in 2009. In 7 years we have come a long way.

I got lucky on that 473... Had wanted one since before I had 445 then this one popped up for less than $400 shipped so I grabbed it.

473, and ~400mw's of it? what more could I want out of that one xD

 what a bargain. I have only just got hold of a 473. 400mw would be worth around a $1000 nowadays.

It was putting out a metered 385mW's when I got it. It is two 473nm's combined into one. One was outputting it's full ~250mW's, the other was outputting ~135mW's.

When I got it the humidity was extremely low so I popped it open and did some alignment on the low output one and got it kicking out visibly 2/3rds of the full powered one output and need to get a meter now.

I also need to set up a bounce mirror and realign the output as it is slightly off and at 8-10 meters or so the beams start to visibly separate from each other.
That alignment is as simple as turning some screws on the outside of the unit until you get it right.

Nice job, when you get it metered let me know its total output. :)

I managed to get a meter of eBay, which happened to be a member of this forum. Every now and then, one will pop up for good value.

If I disappear suddenly, I'm not ignoring you. It is because my battery would of ran out :D
