Naah, they recognize them (mine was a 18650 host) ..... they (here, at least) just don't care about laws.
Our law say clearly that the ban is not applicable for pointers "sold for specific professional use only" ..... and don't ask you to proof that use ..... so, technically, any pointer sold for "specific professional" (and NOT SPECIFIED) use must pass the custom office.
Instead, CSI Forlanini and Lonate Pozzolo custom offices, each time they see a pointer they *COUGH*
steal it*COUGH* (pardon, it's technically called "send it back to the seller" here
), and, sometimes, after some month (usually 4 to 6 months, if you're lucky), they send you a letter saying "the content was not admitted for the import, so it's sent back to the seller", regardless if the content was admitted or not, if it was sold for legit uses or not, just as personal decision of the employees.
In the last year and half, i received 7 of these letters ..... "casually" always about good pointers around 150 / 200mW, never about cheapy ones ..... "casually" all the times from foreign sellers, so check is more difficult ..... and, as i've said, this one is the first case where the pointer was really sent back to the seller, all the other ones NEVER reached the sellers (i asked all the times).
Just speaking about "honesty" of some public employees
I still remain on my idea ..... gasoline and matches can solve some problems, sometimes, better than bureaucracy ..... :eg:
