Just a heads up to anyone sending anything to Canada or ordering anything from Canada that our national postal system Canada Post has stopped all services and deliveries due to a labour dispute. No idea yet how long it might last. Might want to use a courier if you absolutely need your item by a certain date.

That is disappointing, ridiculous and unbelievable. Let us all hope for the best and that the Canada Post strike/crisis will end as soon as possible.

I'm really lucky to have a package from Jlasers of Canada Post being under transit inside my country, instead of risking getting stuck or affected by the delays inside Canada.
At the same time, I am curious about how the problem might affect the customers of companies like Jlasers, when it comes to shipping orders, packages etc. It's a pity to anyone that is affected...

Yeah, unfortunately my laser order was still with Canada Post when they went on strike and is in limbo.

Nearly a month has passed now and there doesn't seem to be any progress in the labour negotiations so this could drag on for quite a while it seems.

News is they are finally getting back to work tomorrow, December 17th!
I have SO many packages being held, I doubt they will be able to delivery any in time...

Yeah, looks like they were at such an impasse that that labour board has ordered them back to work. So hopefully at least some of the stuff that was already in the system gets delivered before Christmas. *fingers crossed for my two lasers*

Canada Post says workers to return Tuesday after labour board ruling

Operations at Canada Post will resume at 8 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the company said, after the Canada Industrial Relations Board ordered a return to work.
