Can you recommend a host ready for assembly?

Hello, i have ordered the 6W+ laser diode from DTR`s laser shop for my laser build.

Link: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/6w-nubm44-445nm-laser-diode

It`s the one with the 25mm copper module and driver included.
(Also has the G-2 Glass Lens included)

Can anyone recommend me a host that would fit this nearly perfectly?
I have checked JayRob`s kits but i am unsure if they fit on this one.
(Main concern is the heatsink since this thing is gonna be damn hot)

Hi P,
Ok 25mm = 0.984252 thousands of an inch. I easy terms its close to 1 inch in diameter . You would need to measure the hosts like flashlight hosts. most come with dimensions written in the specs. Another option is send it to some one with machining capabilities . I make hosts with copper sleeves pressed in an aluminum heat sink. Some pics to get an idea.

Apparently lifetime didn`t have a host for a 25 mm module so if anyone does hit me up!
I`ve searched on ebay and most are 12mm..

Yeah, that's the problem. Most everything out there is made for 12mm modules. To get something different, you'll need to get one made.

Hi,
Sent a PM i will turn a piece of copper to 25mm and see what your options are in a moldable host. Like i said 25mm is a little smaller than 1 inch as a mater of fact 25mm = 0.984252 thousands of an inch that sink is kind of small for the 44 and your duty cycles will be limited to about 2 min tops with a 60 second cool down. But don't worry if things don't work out here then EP can make you a host . He's a good guy on the forum to.

Just for the sake of matter of clarity, when you are using 6 significant figures like 0.984252 inches, that is 984,252 millionths of an inch.

Or you can see it as 25.4 mm per inch so a 26650 flashlight tube could be used without the head and have a cylinder of 27mm or 30mm aluminum turned down on one end to fit the profile where it only looks a little thicker at the top.

I guess it depends on how accurate you need it to be. One inch can be 25.4000508 mm.
