I just got back from a trip in the wayback machine, and look what I found. Can you guess the name of this computer hardware? :na:

I have a compaq 486DX siting out in the garage. It's alway fun to go and look at the parts inside. Like the ultra modern 1.44mb drive and the massive 2MB of ram

That's not even a very old video card, the AGP 1x edge connector is a dead giveaway.

I have an ISA video card in the cellar with a whopping 256K of ram on it.

That bad boy can do 16 colours with ease!

You are correct it is a video card, but which one? Its old to me, it was my first of many. Here's a little snippet from the specs, "The ______ finally has full support for 32Bit color in games..." and "each chip uses 15 Watts and needs 32Mb memory we might as well buy an external generator next to the PC for such a card...". Its funny how 30 watts of power was unheard of back then.

That's a matrox, I have a couple of the original voodoo cards, the pin connector was to hook up a DVD decoder card.

Yes, its a voodoo 5. I remember being so excited the day I brought that home, it was the top of the line. Its amazing the technological progress made in 10 years.

oh crap the matrox guesses were wrong.

I have a voodoo 7 and it don't have any fans, just a plain aluminum heat sink.

I still have my original "sound blaster 64" audio card, from my Athlon 700, she was a screamer with 256 meg ram, yep I had 2 sticks of 128 in there and a 4x cd burner.

How can you have a Voodoo 7? The last generation of Voodoo cards was 5; the next generation, codenamed "Rampage" never came out because Voodoo Graphics went bankrupt in late 2000.
