May need a new diode or driver, assuming you have everything connected correctly. His components were often cheap junk so it could be that the driver has failed, or the diode was damaged when the wires twisted off or it just died from being overdriven/used with a cheap driver.

There are two members here that have started threads to repair any Sci-Fi lasers. One is here in the US and the other is in GB for people in Europe. You might want to check into that. They are both members in very good standing and are doing this just to help people like yourself.

I noticed the use of grey wire for both the positive and negative wire:thinking: There is a possibility that when the wires were resoldered, that they are done backwards. If that was the case, the damage could be to both the diode and the driver.

I'd definitely check out the repair thread for the services that are being offered. There are a couple requirements to the service but if you meet them you cannot go wrong! These are great guys that are giving their time and energy to help others, and going this route your sure to end up with a very well built laser in the end.
SciFi repair help!

There is no telling what Eithan sent you, but that driver I would not use at all, if you test your diode and it is dead I would get a new driver as well.

Eithan used the cheapest of components in his builds. I'd recommend the sci-fi repair service if you want it fixed.

Can't say enough... Pman from this forum went out of his way.

Hooked me up on the repair on the cheap and did a GREAT job!

Thank you Thank you Thank you

True, and that's how he got people like me into the hobby; because he had low prices. That's probably why he went out of business.
