i looked at the sun and it seemed prety dark and could still see it.
But could i use some for laser protection. I know that welding is alot more powerful than the sun (with distance in mind).
it depends on the vlt of your welding goggles try this: point your laser through the welding protection and then you will see the effectivness to get real results use a power meter mesuring before the glasses and after to see the difference in power levels
but i really dont reccomend using them because of the vlt the darkness makes your pupils dilate thefore letting the laser do more damage if it does hit your eyes
I can vouch for the effectiveness of the shades that JOHN LAWSON has for sale. I have a pair myself, & I can honestly say that they are at LEAST, but probably BETTER than the Lasershades from Wicked L. Plus the PRICE of them is UNBEATABLE! So, if you need shades, get a hold of JOHN LAWSON QUICK!!! Before they are all gone & you have to pay Wicked or somebody else almost twice the price, for a (probably) lesser quality pair of shades!! Phoenix77
depends on your nose size lol yea they cover i use them for my RPL its 291 average mW like i said they looked so nice with the case that it comes with i was easily persuaded to buy 9 more pair -Phoenix77 bought a pair I gave my three sons and daughter a pair each and i have a pair for myself that leaves 4 more pair new in box ready to ship
EDIT Please if you are under 18 years old have your parents deal with me
no disrespect meant its just thats what I would want I have a 10,12-14-17 year old

Welding goggles are ment to protect from the massive amount of UV light that is generated at the welding arc point they will provide little to no protection from green's red's or IR like 808nm

Yea if you try to use a welding helmet you'll not only still see the green light you wont be able to see anything else around you "dangerous"
