:undecided:Please forgive me if this is a repeat question. I did a search and didnt find it. Here's the problem, when the laser was about two weeks old it experienced a dramatic dropoff in power. When it was new it would illuminate an entire room as well as burn many things. Now when I turn it on it is only as bright as a craigslist special! It was never dropped or left on for more than two minute intervals. Is there anyone that be willing to take a stab at repairing it? I would send it back but it was a gift. On a side note I'm also looking for a 8x or 12x to add to a TANK007 build. Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Madog

greenies are kind of a hard thing to get fixed around here because alot of the people here deal mostly diy violet lasers!

I may be wrong here, but it sounds like something fried the pump diode on it and that's why the power has dropped so much.

Thanks for the info guys. Are there any wizards up to the task, or is it not worth the effort? Does it still have any value...say as a host or something?

I'd by-pass the switch first. I have seen a awful lot of bad switches on lasers. Mostly on cheap eBay specials (but a few on some very nice builds, also), it is worth checking it out before sending it to someone.
If nobody else steps up, I'll take a look at it.
Len, (hakzaw1) can vouch as to my skills (or lack of) LOL:yh:
EDIT: kevinmassey has the right idea. See if you can get a receipt (or POP) from whomever you received it from, first.

I realize it was a gift, but those lasers cost a lot of money!!! I think you should try and send it back while it's under warranty.

You could contact DragonLasers about getting it repaired, although it may be cheaper to just work on it yourself.

When I contacted dragon they said that it would cost almost as much to fix it as it would be to buy a new 175mw hulk. This is because I have no way to show proof of purchase

If returning it is not an option and if you are like me when it come to repairing these- I would seriously look into paying upfront for the shipping both ways between you in Ohio and Greenmachine in Lakeland Fl. He would need to actually have it in his hands to really troubleshoot it and give you price to fix it but I stake my rep on the fact that Mark T. is very fair, totally honest and truly enjoys such challanges. Who knows it just might be the damn switch!!

ps I'm Canton born.====regards Hak

A stupid suggestion, but its helped many people. Clean all the contacts with a pencil eraser. Clean the treads, and the battery contacts. Also make sure the batteries are full. Then try to bypass the switch if that doesn't work. If all else fails send it to one of our trusted members.

I appreciate the input guys. Ill be lookin for people interested in the fix. Also if someone could guide me to the best place to find a 8x or 12x BRD to add to a Flaminpyro TANK007 build I would be very appreciative.
So your from Canton huh Hak? Then you will know what I mean when I say... T I G... E R S! LOL.

:wave:Don't you mean B U L L D O G S !!!( prolly an obscure ref. to non-Buckeyes , unless you happen to be knowledgable about two of the winningest HS football teams in history, crazy-serious fans, big $$$, ETC.- HUGE rivalry thing) My (smaller HS) played practice games against these two big schools except our varsity played Vs their JV team--they are that good. Many pros came from those.
