can a Digital LED driver be used as Laser Diode driver??

Thank you things for this great tip! Quickly glancing around on the www I saw them $14.99, the name of this thing then began to sound familiar and then I recalled they are at illumination supply for even cheaper

Unless your diode can handle the full output current of the buckpuck, you'll need to rig up a resistive divider to give you the desired current, and feed the amplified modulation signal into the + side of it, but even after all this it should be aroud half the price of a flexmod, and much larger voltage input range. Though, my testing doesn't really go beyond hooking it up and seeing if it works, so I have no idea about response times or anything like that.
