Come back to us after the holidays

Peace,
dave

That reminds me of a story.

Warning: The Following Story is graphic

.

.

The State Attorney for Florida was giving a speech recently and I decided to listen, he showed the aftermath of a car accident between three teenagers in one car a drunk driver in another. The man who had been drunk t-boned the car with the teenagers as they made a left turn. They collided at over seventy miles an hour, the impact rolled their car into a concrete telephone pole over ten feet away. Two of the teens were killed instantly, pieces of their brain were found several feet from the car. Miraculously the other teen survived, despite losing an ear and spending a very, very long amount of time in the hospital. The drunk driver? He walked away with little to no injuries. So don't drink and drive, they're called accidents for a reason. Have a safe and happy holidays.

Yes if you think you can drink and drive, well so did these people and look where they are now.
I would like to see everone thats here now hear after the holidays, please no more suffering people because of alcohol and driving, take a cab or get a friend to drive you.

Peace All...

@Dave. Man, I wish the U.S. would air this in it's unedited entirety. I saw this a few weeks ago and it really hits home. (no, I don't drink and drive, but have been nailed by a drunk over 5 years ago).

As a past first responder (Jaws of life response truck); this video is about as graphic as can be shown without being on the scene yourself. I won't even begin to describe the scenes that I have responded to. There are two that come to mind that make the one posted by Prototype seem like a simple fender bender.

I wholly agree that this needs to be shown in the US, in it's entirety. While it may not stop everyone, it will make a few think about their actions.

I won't drink and drive, and if I do drink, it's one shot at home; where I and everyone else is safe! The vehicles stay parked until the next day, or someone else is driving!

When I drove a lot in the city I saw drunk drivers ALL the time.
Its a little better in the country but I am glad to be in the pickup sometimes.
There are more accidents caused by distracted drivers than there are by drunks though.
PUT DOWN THE DAMN CELL PHONE TOO! lol
A drunk driver hit my neighbor's cars a few years ago. His sunfire ran up on top of my neighbor's BMW and skipped across it onto the back of his new lincoln mark V pickup. My car was parked in front of his truck so I was all right but the drunk ditched his car and tried to hide in the bushes nearby... I thought the whole deal was pretty funny but it screwed over a few people all at once.
Happy holidays guys! :san:

Yeah that is an important video this time of the year. I have been through those sobriety checkpoints and have seen a driver try to make a u-turn to avoid getting arrested, but they already had a patrol car waiting for that.

I was had watch that video in driving school, I will never watch it again. I also can't hear that song again, goddammit.

*Do not watch it if you are in good mood*

One thing i never like to talk about is that I lost my older brother to a drunk driver. He was coming home from dropping off a date and the drunk driver ran the stop sign @ 60+mph, he died later that night in the hospitall from internal bleeding. It really makes me sad and mad when I hear of accidents related to drinking. This was the sadest day in my life. He was a good guy and always took care of family , to be honest i cannot watch that video in its entirety because it it kills me.

Thanks Dave.. It's a great reminder to everyone that our irresponsibilities also have an inpact on others.

may not matter but - would like to rep but its not letting me , Dave

Lost my best friend in high school to a drunk driver. We'd had a falling out and hadn't spoken in days. I'll carry that until the day I die.

Wow. Moving. I am not normally emotional but I allowed myself to think "what-if?" and shed a tear! That should be required for drivers-ed!

I quit drinking in august and it was the best decision I have ever made. It really does affect you in ways that are often impossible to see yourself. Now, I am working on getting back to my pre-beer weight, only 40lbs to go!

I only ever have 1 drink if I am going to be driving sometime later that day and never drink if I'm riding the sportbike.
Then again the last drink I have had was about 2 months ago and I always have rye, rum, and coke in the fridge if company comes over.
Most of my friends drink exactly as much as I do (we drink together if we hang out)

Never understood alcohol addiction... :(
