"C" battery modification

right.. that's where I was going next. Got to make sure the cells are the same by testing them.
Though the 21700s look like an easier find.

Hi, Its easier for me being I have a lathe and can bore out the center to reduce the battery tube cavity down . Like from a 26650to a 18650 battery, And from 32650 down to 26650 batteries. CPVC Sch 80 or PVC Sch 40 .. Good god in modification Seoul..

Rich:)

Hi ,
The equivalence lithium ion battery size to a c cell is a 26500 .. Efest makes them..
Thank youRed.

Rich:)

I have a 4 x C cell Maglite and in order to use 3 x 26650 I also had to hone it out as the 26650 is a little thicker than the C-cell so depending on the tolerances of your battery tube it may or may not be an issue.

Good information. btw, have any of you had a chance to look at the 21700 sized cells yet?

I have seen them but have not tested any and I don't have any hosts that use the 21mm wide 21700, in theory they should fall between the 26650 and 18650 as far as capacity.

18650 is 18mm wide and 65mm long
21700 is 21mm wide and 70mm long
26650 is 26mm wide and 65mm long

I would like to see wider shorter cells as they would be the most volumetrically efficient. Something like 35350 and keeping with 35 and 70mm lengths would allow substitutes via. spacer sleeves as we do now with smaller cells.

70mm length makes more sense than 65mm as it's twice that of 35mm long cells such as 18350 and would allow for 21350 cells when we want to double up the voltage of a given host battery tube.
