Yeah This thread is suggesting a GOOD IDEA, however I think it might have been started as a smoke screen while scarletwolf031 went on a SCAMMING SPREE!!!

I agree.... I think a mandatory number of posts should be required
by any new member that wants to sell on the Forum... There are
way too many Scammers that get through...

The scarletwolf031 SCAM would not have happened and 2 LPF
members would not have been scammed.

There should also be a way of forcing new members to read
through the pitfalls of buying on a Forum and tell them up
front that it is their decision to use a middle man or not...
But if it falls though they can't complain about their choice..

BUYER BEWARE....

Well, I obviously support the idea of this thread.
And I find it ridiculous that scarletwolf031 started this just after he scammed me and another member.
I will definitely use a middle man from now on, unless buying from a well-trusted member.

I know its not the 15th yet, but well I think this idea is agreed by most people here already and could be done to prevent what has just happened over the past few days.

As ive stated way earlier in this thread, once the idea seems agreeable (and again, it is definatly going in that direction), we should come to an ultimatum for it to be actually implemented, and contact the administrator about this.

(or he already knows, and im just missing something, if so, fill me in please).

I'd like to know if this could be implemented into
the vBulletin Software...
If some Mods or even the Admin could chime in with
their input we could make the Forum a bit safer for
our members...

Well, look at the veteran's board,

I cannot see its content's as I do not have a password (im under <1000 posts). So perhaps a simular thing can be intergrated into the board, but set it to be passwordless, and only allow to pass or deny access to based on the # of posts, once that limit has been surpassed, then it rendered the forum function null for said user. (or ones with under X# of posts can be reviewed by a moderator and then they can decide whether to allow them or not.)

At least thats how I think it could be done, but as you said lasersbee, the actual admin/mods will have a better idea how to work it into the forum then myself.

If it can't be implemented, we could still make it a rule and rely on members ringing
the moderators, should they spot a noob trying to sell.

Besides all that, all I can say is: CAVEAT EMPTOR!
It's beyond me why someone would just buy something off a complete stranger off
the internet. Really, dear laser buying noob, if you want to play it safe, do a little
research on the member you're buying from, how long have they been here,
how many posts they have, do they have "business" related +reps...?

The reason is that if you need to register to be part of a community..
it is believed by new members that it is a safe place to buy...
since the community allows the sellers sell...

You automatically trust the place others are not allowed into...
That was my 1st impression of sellers here... before I realized that
it was only an illusion in my mind.... when other got ripped off by
some of those same "noob trusted" sellers...

Havn't really had time to read through the whole thread, but with regards to the OP's question,

I'd say yes a minimum requirement should be implemented if possible. Something along the lines of 150 posts, ASWELL as 5-10 rep or something.
