Bought M8 lenses by accident - any use?

I bought 3x 445nm and 2x 808nm lenses that are M8 instead of M9 by accident. Silly carelessness. They're brass/copper in colour.

Any idea if any use can be made of these?

Call me crazy, but the only M8 lenses I can find are Leica camera lenses.

Photos? Specs?

I'm so confused. :p

Ohh. I'd just extract the lenses and put them in AixiZ blanks I guess. Not sure.

I think they would - they look like green module lenses. They're single element though, so I'm unsure as to how good they'll be. Probably not worth fussing with.

I wonder if the rather long tread of some green modules would enable one to turn it into some kind of beam expander by using two lenses?

What color do they reflect? (Just look at the plan surface)
What is a back focal length? (Just make an image of your ceiling lamp)

M8x0.5 or M9x0.5 are threads and do not specify a lens

LOL, yes I know this :)
I wasn't asking what to do with them from a "hey, what might these be useful for elsewhere" perspective, but rather from a "what the heck kind of housing, somewhere, somehow, might let me use these for their intended purpose of focusing 445nm diodes?" one ;)

You could gut a green module and install a 445nm instead of the IR one. :D

Lol, that's actually not a terrible idea. My SDLaser is starting to become outdated in my collection, but I love the host. Maybe it needs to become a 445 :)

then just get a tap M8x0.5 and make a new housing

Actually, I wonder if anyone here has an M8x0.5 tap?
If so, I could always just get some press-fit modules machined ;)

Anyone know off hand?

I don't think they're that phenomenal that it would be worth the hassle.
