I was talking about the diode :P

But rubberband was talking about WL when he said

"oh yea and theirs costs 2 grand and yours is better "

:P

lol

Probably around 10mW... but considering how bright it seems compared to my last one, I wouldn't put it past it that it's 15mW or so. 8-)

Sorry, but isn't that kinda overdriving the diode if its 15mW?

ROFL........

Aren't we the same group of people that Push 18X dvd burner diodes to 200+ mw CW...??? :o

Overdrive and then some!!!!

Or as my old Boss used to say..."Push it till it breaks than back off 10%".... ;D

THo ..with Bluray diodes..that can get expensive!

I just can't wait to perform my first Bluray BURNER harvest!...hehehehehe

So Daedal, do you have you a few orders for these? If someone likes a more advanced case, maybe metal, would that be classier?

This is an awesome idea, and at a wonderful price. As soon as I find myself $155 richer you can count on my patronage!

Are there currently any available, and if not, when might one be? Also, I'm new to LPF (but not new to laser forums, I call Spectra Forum my home) so how might I go about purchasing one of these beauties?

Pseudo... I agree with you... but I honestly believe this is a freak diode! I started climbing the current up until it hit lasing potential which was a far-out 40mA!!! Once it got there it was bright as can ever be... but my common sense dictates that lasing potential is no where near operating current, so I pushed it to 50mA... THIS IS ONE NICE DIODE! Of about 6 I've been through... this one is by far the best one. ;D :D

I am trying to find a place that sells these specific ones but I have had no luck at all so far! :'( It's getting expensive pretty quick with these diodes... The better the more expensive they are... and I'm stacking on low power red like it's a goal or something... ;D I have about 20 of them if not more... :-/

This one is available right now... the one in the picture, the really bright one... and I have it sitting in front of me right now :) working and perfect.

I'm thinking my next batch will be pulsed only for the sake of the diodes themselves. Those are going to be a bit more expensive, but for good cause... the circuit gets much more complicated as things are added to make that whole pulsing thing... :P

I'm honestly looking at putting these in a nice case, drive them and sell them with a rechargeable 3.6V battery and charger. They're gonna be in a AA case so the battery has to be the 14500 ;)

I'm still working on working out the stupid details of the circuit itself, and once that's done you can expect to see these online in no time for mass sales :D They won't be as professional as some other ones out there since I, unfortunately, don't have enough space or money to buy a lather right now (I won't say waste because a lathe can never be a waste of money or space... IMO ;D).

So you got a drive containing the unstacked blu-ray diode for only $60. Which model drive is that?

I really do hope you start producing many of these! You'd have the entire market to yourself really. Until then I hope no one buys the one you have until I have the money, lol!

i'm sure daedal will have more than 1, after all he makes them himself, that's why they are so cheap and work! ;)
